Cakes

Who’s having a birthday anyway? Looks like the kids are more enthusiastic at blowing candles :) Of course, they were quite a helping hand at decorating the simple birthday cake…..

This was my first attempt at Japanese cheesecake. I didn’t use any jam for the topping, but simply whipped cream and fresh cherries. The recipe as follows:

Base cake is lapis surabaya. Here’s the cake after brushed with strawberry jam:

And here’s the decorated cake:

And here’s the sweet birthday girl :)

This is my very first attempt in baking red velvet cake. But the cake didn’t turn out as red as I want it to be. I guess it’s because of the chocolate powder I used, it’s too dark. But I do love the texture! It is very moist and the cream cheese frosting is amazing! You can check out the recipe here in Mbak Ria’s web: http://icip2didapur.blogspot.com/

These were the results. Thanks to my teacher Hera (www.heidyscake.com) for such a valuable lesson :)

Two dummy cakes and one real lapis surabaya cake, very yummy…..

My little girl requested dinosaur cake…. geeezz…. I tried to persuade her to switch to a more girly cake, but she insists on dinosaur cake. Ok, mommy tried to make, but sorry, the pink dino is kinda squarish :)

Cupcakes for her friends……

And decorated cookies….

Cupcake and cookies for teachers…..

Goody bag for her friends: cupcake, cookies, and tumbler (princess for the girls and spiderman for the boys)
